Multi-instrumentalist, singer song-writer and producer Harry Heart knows how to blend stadium rock with a DIY aesthetic. As a British-Australian artist he embraces duality. Refined yet messy. Traditional yet inventive. His guitar tone is a nod to U2 and The Killers. His production style shows influence from St Vincent and James Blake. Now he's venturiing deep into Web3, embracing the NFT space and blockchain technology.
 

Appearing at Beautiful Days Festival in August, and announcing London and Manchester shows in November, Harry Heart is taking transformation in his stride this year. He shared ‘Can’t Be Led’ as a music NFT, only releasing the song on all platforms once the NFT had sold. The music NFT sold in 24 hours, and now he's making good on his promise, sharing the song with us on all streaming services.

His label Kinda Grizzly was co-created with his brother Julian Wa in 2019. A strong advocate for independent artists, he releases music through Kinda Grizzly and uses the label’s resources to aid his peers in Britain, Australia and beyond.

When throwing fans a curve ball, there is a risk that they might not catch it. That’s a risk that Heart is willing to take in 'Can't Be Led’, the new single with mantra-like lyrics and hypo-electronic overtones. Undoubtedly a step in a new direction.

Written and produced in Manchester, UK, ‘Can’t Be Led’ is a dynamic, pulsing slow-dance of piano focused electronica. “I need a mantra, to remind myself of who I am and what I can do,” Heart explains “I told myself “I can’t be led” over and over in this song, and I want you to hear it and know that you can’t be led anywhere you don’t want to go”. The song lends itself to the guitars of Tears for Fears, the earthshaking low end of DARKSIDE, and the vocal experimentation of Kanye West’s ‘808s and Heartbreak’.

Since his return to the UK from Australia, the dual-national has featured on BBC Introducing’s Hot List, made his BBC 6 Music debut, performed alongside the likes of Badly Drawn Boy, The Slow Readers Club, Lewis Watson and Radical Face (USA) and has clocked over 800,000 streams across Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud.
